Admission of The Foreign Students to The Undergraduate Programs of Çukurova University

In the academic year 2005-2006 foreign students will be enrolled to the faculties and schools of higher education in the numbers stated below.

Students being citizens of North Cyprus Turkish Republic and students having double citizenship that is both of Turkish Republic and North Cyprus Turkish Republic can not apply for quota of the foreign students.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Being graduated from schools equal to Turkish High schools is a must.
(Not being Turkish or NCTR citizenship or not having double citizenship rights of any of these countries)

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION

• High school Diploma: Notary approved copy of the high school diploma (either in English or Turkish)
  NOTE: During the application procedures, an “Equality Document” of the applicant’s showing that their diploma is equal to those of Turkish High schools will be required; this document is available at the Ministry of Education of the Turkish Republic or at the Turkish Embassy of the corresponding country.

• Official Transcript (Document for marks): it shows the subjects and marks of the applicant attained at high school. These official mark documents have to be submitted in a closed envelope, approved by the High school directorate. (If the documents are not in English or Turkish, an approved copy in one of these languages is required as well).
• Exam result: the original or approved sample of the exam result (YÖS, SAT I, GCE, ACT, TAWJIH, BACCALAURAT LIBANAIS; ABITUR) to be used for the application.

  EXAM RESULTS
  (one of these exam results is required)

• YÖS (Examination for Foreign Students) at least 40 standard score of 2004 or 2005 Basic Learning Skills Test of YÖS.

  SATI	:	at least 1100 total score and at least 600 score in mathematics
  GCE	:	at least three A levels one of which is related to the program being applied to (those having A level points)
  ACT	:	at least 24 points in Mathematics (Math), Science (Science Reasoning) and Composite.
  TAWJIHI	:	In the Tawjihi examinations given in Jordan and Palestine, a minimum average of 90 points in all courses in the Scientific Stream
  BACCALAUREAT LIBANAIS	:	with a diploma score of at least 15 in the Scientific Stream
  INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREAT	:	with a diploma score of at least 30
  ABITUR	:	with a score of at least 4.
  APPLICATION DEADLINE	:	July 29th 2005
  CERTAIN REGISTRATION DATES	:	01 September 2005 - 02 September 2005.

  TEACHING LANGUAGE:

  The teaching language at our university is Turkish. However, at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture the teaching language is English. At some of our faculties a one year preparation program is applied.

  NOTE: The evaluation of the applications and the placement of the applicants are completely up to Çukurova University. Ç.U. is free in filling its quota or not. Having fulfilled the application conditions does not mean being accepted for the placement.

  The enrollments of the applicants will be evaluated by the Rectorate.

  The application results will be announced to the applicants in written form. They will also be announced at the internet.

  The applicants who are accepted will be sent an acceptance letter by Çukurova University. Together with this acceptance letter, the applicants have to visit the Turkish Embassy of their country (or the closest nearby) in order to get their “Education Visa”. This visa is a necessity to be able to enter Turkey and enroll to the university.

  Students who are placed according to YÖS exam results; their Turkish level will be determined according to their exam results.

  A level: His or her Turkish sufficient. The student can start his or her education.
  B Level: His or her Turkish may improve in a short time. The student can start education, but has to attend Turkish courses.
  C level: His or her Turkish is insufficient. The student can start his or her education only after attending a 1 year Turkish course.
